Of course, we recommend that you become familiar with the body of water before undertaking new activities, conduct a risk assessment, consider things like depths, currents, submerged objects and other potential hazards and always swim with a friend.

No. The videos are designed to teach the student how to swim, not how to swim competitively. On completion of the course the goal is for you to be able to swim a technically correct freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Swimming a stroke correctly will make you faster BUT we don't delve into the finer details of improving speed for racing.

A kickboard and goggles if you can't put your eyes in water without them. Other equipment discussed in any of our videos is optional and can sometimes be substituted with common household items. This is discussed further within the videos.
